"The NAMI classes kept our adoption from failing.  We had already contacted DHS about next steps with our daughter as our family was falling apart and we had no idea what we were dealing with.  The mental health issues our daughters were dealing with were devastating.  The NAMI classes helped us understand that we were not alone and educated us about what was happening.  The classes also gave us tools to help our children.  I am excited to say that we have three adopted children  - all with mental health issues and all of them are making significant progress because of the stepping stone of help we received from NAMI.  I wish we had known about these classes when we were fostering as they would have helped not only the children, but the mentoring we were doing with biological parents as well.  I can not recommend the NAMI Basics classes enough.  Every foster/adoptive family I have met who has gone through the classes has said that these classes have been lifesavers for their families and the children for which they are caring."  - DeAnn W.
